A few images on embrionic development September 13, 2007

The early stages of development!…. What crucial time in our lives! Here is an MRI image of a healthy 32 week-old embryo still in her mommy’s tummy. In contrast to X-ray, and CT scan, MRI (along with ultrasound) is a safe means of looking inside the womb without affecting the developing life inside. Note the beautiful shape of the cervical vertebrae laying on top of each other and the distinctive shape of the corpus callosum connecting the two hemispheres.
And when You are done observing, take a look at this MRI scan, and note that this embryo was not so lucky. His diagnosis is ACC or agenesis of the corpus callosum.
