Tomography means – Egy szó jelentése September 17, 2007

Hello, there! From now on, due to high demand, we are going to post our articles in both English and Hungarian.

The other day I looked up the word tomography in a dictionary, and found that the word “tomo” means to cut, and it originates from the Greek language. Yet, another wonder we can thank the Greeks. So thank You! And here is an image that represents this process best. I found this image on wikipedia.org, while searching for some information on SPECT or single photon emission computer tomography for my next artcile.

Hali! Örömmel jelenthetem, hogy mostmár magyarul is olvashatóak leszünk, nem csak angolul.

A minap felütöttem egy szótárt a “tomography” alatt, és a következőt találtam. Jelentése “vágni” és ezt is, mint sok minden mást is, a Görögöknek köszönhetjük. Szóval köszi nekik, a wikipedia.org-nak, pedig a fényképért, ami talál legjobban tükrözi a szó eredeti jelentését. Ezen a képen az ún.  SPECT eljárással készített ún. rövid tengelyű metszetek láthatóak. De erről többet majd később, egy újabb cikkben.
