When iPhones were put out on the market, I was literally drooling at the very sight of it. What could possible be better than having your camera+mp3 player+mobile+laptop in one single device? And now there is yet another reason to buy one: WebPax images can be viewed on an iPhone. WebPax is a DICOM compliant, scalable medical image management system developed by HeartIT. “DICOM is a standard for handling, storing, printing, and transmitting information in medical imaging.” It is basically a file format and a communications protocol. So now, you can not only access your patients’ medical records online, but you may also view their latest PET, CT, MRI and other related scans. High quality videos of medical images on an iPhone can be found on the HeartIT site.
